I've started a bookblog

Since I tend to listen to books as  I stitch I started a book blog with some friends and family. We are having a giveaway in our welcome post. Plus our book review of Broken Promises by Belinda Boring available as ebook and paperback who will be stopping back by for this Feature Friday.  The book blog is adult since it's for romance of all sub genre's including my favorite paranornormal! Some of the books will end up being erotic but not all. So if it interests you please stop by. We are giving away a pair of knitted fingerless gloves and 2 bookmark thongs. Hope to see some of my stitching buddies there. =) I've been doing more knitting with the fall and winter which is why I haven't been posting here.

Steelers Update

Finished 4 pgs so far. No way I can finish it by the first of Sept. But I am still going to see how close I can get. The kids started K12. So far I've spoken to Brayden's (son,4th grade teacher) and as of yet I haven't gotten a call from Kalista's (daughter,2nd grade teacher). I really hope she doesn't try calling after 3 since I will be out with Hubby celebrating our 11th yr anniversary. Geez, 32 yrs old and married 11yrs. That's pretty awesome!  I finished Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter and starting the first book of Game of Thrones.  Time to start getting rdy for my date. Geez a date! Wow! With the kids about we don't get many of those.

Pg 3 of the Steelers piece for White family

Another pg done on the Steelers piece. I still don't know that I will be able to finish it in time but I am sure putting every spare moment I have in it. I just don't think it's going to be enough. But still going to try. I took this off my phone so the colors are not true. But it gives the basic idea. Its gorgeous! I will take the nxt update pic with the camera.  And I'm not even a Steelers fan. Back to work I go.

Comments welcome. I know they were turned off for a while. IDK why an over site on my part.

Steelers piece

I've been asked to do a Steelers project for my husbands SQ Captain for his going away since he got new orders and leaves in a little over a month. I don't know if I can get it finished in time but its like doing a Haed. So far I just finished pg 2 last night. Well more like at 1:20am!  I got this one and 2 other teams from a NCAA online store.

The BOO is what my son picked out b4 Cecil left for Korea. He wanted because his nickname is Boo. I finally finished it a few days ago.

The little diet pieces I did out of a magazine. I thought they were just too cute and I need more magnets. Haha, they are not made into magnets yet but they are stitched! They didn't take long to stitch up and I used the fabric my 7yr daughter dyed for them.

I've been working on my Greek Mandala yesterday and today. Making good progress. It's been a while since I worked on it and I'd like to get it finished before the yr is out so I can start the Serengeti Mandala. I'm waiting for fabric for Sleepy Hollow and for the Serengeti Mandala. Seems Silkweavers is taking a long time. A piece I guess was lost and they resent it but now waiting for this big order from them it's got me very stressed that it's not here yet. It's over $100 worth of fabric! I love the company and I'm sure it will get here soon. Or I'll talk to them about it.

A lot going on here and still recovering from surgery.

Happily Ever After Wedding Record dk pink done

I finished this afternoon. I love the way it came out. I made my own adjustments to give it more of a free feel vs the framed feel it had. It still needs the names and wedding date but those will go on at the very last minute. Now to dye some fabric and stitch one in purple!

I'm stuck having surgery

Well I found out my gallbladder hasn't been working for some time now. It's just a stone holder and has to go and go quickly. But Cecil has a trip out of town and we get to go with him for once so my Dr. ran a ton of tests and we agreed to do it on the 8th.

Updates, a finish, and a new Haed

Me and our kids
Ok the pics with at Wichita Falls, TX after my sister in law's wedding. We stopped by the falls after the weekend of her wedding was over on way back home to OK. It was a lovely wedding. I"ll have to try to remember the pic of my girl dancing with her daddy when my girl is married! It was so cute!  My girl and her cousin Gabbi were given a set of the brides maids flowers to see at the reception. They are so cute! And my boy making sure the girls weren't getting into trouble when they were off running around playing with the other girls just had to bring them to me to let me know they didn't take them they were given them to play with for a little bit. HAHA! He's such a great kid.

My handsome hubby with our kids.

Kalista dancing with Daddy.

LK Boo Club

LK Boo Club a UFO. I love the way it turned out but I still need to get it framed.

Some how I got the pics out of order. HAHA!
Gabbi (1 of their many cousins) My son Brayden, and daughter Kalista

My New Haed
Haed Nene Thomas Lavender Serenade.
Nene is one of my favorite artist I have 5 pieces signed and her book. They frequent at one of my Dh's favorite local privately owned shops. But out of respect for the owner who isn't an art seller and of Nene and her Dh's privacy no I won't say where.  When my DH was promoted almost 2 yrs ago he surprised me that instead of paying bills we were going out to pick out art from my favorite artist for the walls instead! I got to be doubly surprised when we Accidentally ran into Steven in the store when we stopped in a shop my Dh's goes to a lot! Steven is a wonderfully sweet man and asked which pieces I was looking for. After talking for awhile, he was very patient with me, I decided on 5 pieces. Steven dropped them off to me and surprise Nene had signed them! And for my Bday last yr DH, the shop owner, ( I won't name his name), Steven and Nene shocked me with a signed copy of their first book! I always have to squee about that bit of luck. I never ever get lucky like that! So for me its truly a special treat!

I dyed this piece for a wedding sampler/record. I will have to do another in purple for another person. Both when done will be wedding presents. 1 however is already late. But she'll love it all the same. Doing the one that is upcoming first. I love the way the color turned out!

Well the medicine I took for my back seems to have caused my kidney to get badly infected. I've been knocked on my butt in severe pain, spent most of Sat in the er. They were on the fence if I should stay or go which to me isn't a good thing for a dr to be. Finally they sent me home and my kids and hubby have been looking after me. Mostly I just sleep and wake to take pain pills and the other pills they gave me.

ATM I'm sitting up but its wearing me down so quickly. I just woke up and I am going to go back to bed with help of my hubby to get me to the bed. Will update when i can. Just too weak.

Tarot Town Update

pg 1 This is where it was when I picked it back up again sometime in Jan2012
I took this on my iphone in poor light as well so the colors are off haha. But you can see the progress and I didn't want to go HUNT down where the digital camera was hiding. Originally, I only took the pic to txt to my best friend.
I do want to say that I tend to buy Potato colored fabric for my projects that are fully stitched. Potato is or should be more of a lt cream at most fabric stores but without the sheen most creams have so it dont show as much under the stitches when done.  It makes the white thread stand out more while stitching and the dk threads not have that or as much of that bright white fabby sneaking through the threads.

all of pg 1, almost half of pg 10, and pt of pg 2. I would have gone further on pg 10 but this is so huge even my huggie I made for my qsnap for HAEDS which is wider to hold more of the extra fab then most can't hold all the fabric! I'll have to make a wider one right now some of the extra fabric is in the way of the sides of the stitching area and I didn't want to move my frame so I started pg 2 instead. When I get the time I will make a new huggie that will hold more of the fab. First I have to get rdy for the upcoming yard sale and well my craft room is storing most of the boxes and furniture for it so I can't get to my sewing machine if I tried.

Look you can see the clouds! Well I can kinda LMAO! I wish they were more obvious as with some other HAEDs but most HAEDs it seems when you can stand back and look when more is done they become more obvious. I can't wait to get away from the shades of grey and into the colors of this piece. Its actually colorful once you get the clouds done.

Here is a closer picture.

Crochet living room afghan

I did this the end of Dec to the beginning of Jan actually. But a friend who won't get blogger but checks my blog *you know who you are silly goose, I know you will look for this tonight* pointed out I never shared a pic. Most of the colors on my wall are all water like hues from greens to blues. When I saw the yarn out shopping with my sister it reminded me of the colors of the ocean we saw from Bar Harbor, Maine to Salem, Mass. and it's soo soft and cuddly!! I laid it out on our king size bed to take a pic. I didn't mean to make it so big haha! But I love it! I started a simple shawl to go with it for when I'm cold and stitching or at the comp but I haven't worked on it since Jan. I've just been too busy.

New Haeds and an update on Tarot Town

pg 1 of Tarot Town. You can kinda see the start of the clouds. Its a really pretty

Moonlight Serenade

Umbrella Sky

QS Rochelle -This reminds me of our trip to the NE Coast from Bar Harbor, Maine to Salem,Mass

QS Waiting for the First Dance I'm thinking I'll do it for my Daughters 16th Bday. She loves everything about it. She's only 7 so hopefully I will finish in time LAMO!

This is for my son. He loves everything Fish/Aquatic and time travel.. and in solving crimes the boy would be in heaven and he just turned 9! He's been crazy about wanting to work in an Aquarium or off a Coast as a Marine Biologist since he was just a toddler. The Mertle Beach Aquarium in SC and the Biloxi Aquarium in MS are his Favorite places and he misses them.  Odd thing is he hasn't wavered from what he wants not even once.

Research and Creating

Well for months, more like half a yr, I've been waiting to get the Microsoft Office for a seriously reduced price through the military. The kids are creating their own Animal Studies research book for school. But all the pre-made teacher worksheets for elementary really suck. Some have some info you expect to see, others barely any, and even more have things who cares anything about. And most of them are 4 or more pages. I really disliked them. So today not that we finally have the Microsoft Office, Cecil put it on my comp last night, I printed all teacher Animal Report/Study worksheets and wrote down what I like about them and created my own. I'm pretty proud of them. Its 1 page front and back and all the information a kid needs. The back includes books read, webpages explored, fieldtrips, pictures. You know the fun stuff. :) And now they each have their Books(folders) to keep their information of their studies in. This way they can build on it throughout the school year and many yrs to come.

I know when I was going to school I would have liked to have had my research projects  and papers saved. Lmao some of the ones I did in High School I saved and I got to use them for College! Ok so they needed a little revising but it saved a lot of time. I still have a few even though I am out of College because you do so much work and its nice to be able to go back and look at what you've learned and done.

Anyway, I'm Proud of them but if someone thinks of some thing I missed just speak up. :) After all there is always room for improvements.

And here is the back
